ARCHES Lab - San Diego State University

Introduction:

The Action Research on Community Health Equity and Stigma (ARCHES) Lab, housed within SDSU’s Institute of Behavioral and Community Health, is dedicated to advancing health equity and social justice for historically underserved communities. With a focus on community-informed research in areas like youth development, housing insecurity, and LGBTQIA+ health, ARCHES needed a digital platform that could reflect the depth of its mission while engaging a diverse audience of researchers, students, and community partners. I was brought on to design and launch the lab’s official website, creating a digital presence that not only showcases the lab’s impactful work but also serves as a hub for collaboration, training, and academic visibility.

Overview:

I led the redesign and launch of the ARCHES Lab’s official website, building a centralized platform to showcase research, promote events, and share resources. The goal was to elevate the lab’s digital identity to create a cohesive user-friendly experience aligned with SDSU’s academic standards. Collaborating closely with PhD Faculty and other researchers, I ensured ll content was accurate, relevant and reflective of the lab’s mission. I also oversaw the integration of digital branding across the website and social media platforms, establishing a consistent visual identity. This project combined UX thinking with content design and brand development, helping the lab expand its reach and engage a broader research community.
